Getting enough z’s is an integral part of maintaining and achieving good health. Sleeping is analogous to eating, when the tank runs empty we don’t function as well. Not getting enough sleep cause also effect metabolism and weight. Chronic sleep deprivation can actually cause weight gain. With not enough hours of shut eye, our hormone levels that affect the appetite are altered and our bodies begin to process and store certain macronutrients differently. So make sure an adequate amount of sleep is integrated into your lifestyle in addition to a healthy diet and plenty of exercise!
