We are beyond excited that our Power Yoga instructor Gail Culligan has been chosen as May’s BodyRock Sport BodyRocker of the month!
Every month, Kelly Dooley owner of the athletic apparel company BodyRock Sport chooses one lucky lady who embodies the BodyRock Sport lifestyle and attitude. It’s an attitude that pushes you to reach higher, to be strong, to take risks, to pay it forward, and to always do your best 100% of the time.
Here, Gail is rocking The Genevieve Twisted Tank with The Hera Capris!

We hope you’ve been following our pregnancy and fitness series over the past few months in Buffalo Spree Magazine. If you’ve missed it, the popular Buffalo magazine has been following the pregnancies of our two members and mommies, Erika and Lisa.
In the April 2013 issue, the focus is about the different stages of pregnancy and the steps moms need to take to stay safe and healthy during exercise. The spotlight is also on Hive’s prenatal program.
Our prenatal program at Hive grew out of an interest that newly pregnant women and women who had recently given birth were expressing to their trainers – that they wanted to be fit during pregnancy and get their pre-baby bodies back faster.
Hive’s prenatal program includes one-on-one training, physical therapy, prenatal exercise classes and massage. In this photo you see Physical Therapist Dr. Calabrese Vaeth helping Dr. Lisa Gelman-Koessler overcome a pelvis alignment issue.
We hope you pick up this month’s issue of Buffalo Spree to check out how our mommies are doing. They’re in the home stretch and the little bundles of joy will be delivered this Spring.
If you would like more information about our prenatal programs, call us at 625.4483.
Introducing Project Black
A Collaborative Effort Between BodyRock Sport & hive
Creamsicle orange and mint greens are the colors of the season. Right now you’re seeing them everywhere – from fashion magazines to the yoga studio to the grocery store.

But to wear these colors and not look like a flashback from the 80s, you have to have the basics down first.
Introducing Project Black! Kelly from BodyRock Sport and hive have combined their fashion meets function talents to developed an athletic apparel label exclusive to hive. Project Black was created because black is always in style. And this year’s pop colors look even better as accent pieces next to black.
Our new clothing line looks great by itself or accented with color. Come in and try on an outfit from this collection and you’ll receive 10% off any Project Black item should you decide to take it home!
The following is a line-up of running events that hive team members will be attending this year. If you’re planning on running in any of these events, you might want to join hive’s complimentary run club. We meet every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the club in East Amherst to train. So whether you are new to running or would like to shave some time off of your final score, please join us!

March is national nutrition month. This is a great time to reflect on your diet and how it is impacting your fitness and wellness goals. To celebrate this month, we’d like to share three “good for you” foods that have gotten a bad rap.
Remember, moderation is essential to living a healthy lifestyle. How much and how often we eat something is more important in determining risk-benefit than any single attribute of a food. If you need help getting your nutrition back on track, contact us to learn more about our nutritional services.
